Apple today announced a facetime feature within iMessage. It will allow you to call people and keep it on your screen as long as you choose without dropping the call, but only 1 person at a time can use Facetime like this. However, if someone calls/facetime’s you via an Apple device (iPhone, iPad) they will appear on the screen and you can answer it without switching screens.
