The New Orleans Saints have hired Jameis Winston as their new starting quarterback. Winston will be paid $7 million over the next three years, which is a hefty sum for a player who has never played in an NFL game before.
The new orleans saints roster is the official list of players on the New Orleans Saints. Jameis Winston has a $7 million opportunity after winning the starting quarterback job in the NFL.
The New Orleans Saints have finally put a stop to the needless speculation over who would start as quarterback for the 2021 season. After defeating Taysom Hill, the club has selected Jameis Winston as the starting quarterback for Week 1.
The Saints are in his second season with the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback. In 2021, he will have the chance to make more money as the main actor.
Jameis Winston’s deal includes incentives of up to $7 million.
This season, Jameis Winston has up to $7 million in incentives available, which are based on a number of variables such as playing time, passing statistics, and team performance. Today, his route to those different motivations became more apparent.

In 2020, Winston only played in four games and attempted 11 passes. In the offseason, he re-signed with the Saints on a one-year contract for $5.5 million in base pay. The deal also contains certain performance-based incentives for the 27-year-old.
Winston will earn an extra $500,000 if he plays 70% of the regular season snaps and the Saints reach the playoffs. He’ll be relying on his offensive line to bring in an extra $500,000. He’ll profit if he plays 70% of the snaps and the Saints rank in the top five in sacks allowed.
Any passer rating of over 93.0 and a completion percentage of 65 percent or higher on a minimum of 224 attempts would win the Florida State product $500,000.
His throwing yardage and touchdown totals are also included into the deal. With 3,500 throwing yards and 25 touchdowns, he may earn up to $1 million for each.
Winston should get an extra $1 million if he improves his playing time, passing yards, or touchdowns in 2020.

Taysom Hill is a dual-threat running back, but it’s clear that he doesn’t help the Saints offense. Jameis Winston is a gunslinger, and in the post-Drew Brees era, he has a greater chance of guiding this offense.
During his six-year career, the veteran has been on a roller coaster of sorts. He passed for 19,737 yards and 121 touchdowns in five seasons as the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He threw 88 interceptions on the other hand. That has been the most serious criticism leveled against him.
He clearly has the ability to move the ball downfield. The Saints’ offense must be able to spread out. Michael Thomas, an All-Pro wide receiver, is out with an ankle injury and is unlikely to return until October. Even if he’s healthy, his broken relationship with the franchise makes it uncertain if he’ll play in New Orleans this season.
Winston’s primary targets are expected to be Tre’Quan Smith and Marquez Callaway, who had a strong preseason. Smith has been hurt throughout training camp, but the club is hopeful that he will be ready for Week 1 of the season. In the preseason, Callaway has shown that he can extend the field.
According to NFL.com, Winston stated of Callaway, “I believe he’s a great football player.” “It’s great to have teammates that view the game the same way you do and are excited to take advantage of these opportunities.” The former Tennessee Volunteer seems to be forming a bond with his new quarterback.
Alvin Kamara will also benefit from the change. He’s the best offensive player on the team. With a quarterback who can complete all of the necessary passes, Sean Payton can be more creative in his approach to getting Kamara the ball.
The Saints have a chance to make the playoffs if Jameis Winston can lead them there.
The Buccaneers, led by Tom Brady, are the reigning Super Bowl winners and the favorites to win the NFC again in 2021. That doesn’t rule out the possibility of the Saints making the playoffs.
When Winston takes over as quarterback instead of Taysom Hill, the offense’s potential skyrockets. He’ll be taking over a tried-and-true attacking scheme, albeit one that lacks the complete arsenal of weaponry. Hopefully, his mental blunders are a thing of the past. If Michael Thomas returns to the Saints and regains his form, this offense’s potential is limitless.
Once again, the Saints defense should be tough. Trey Hendrickson, Janoris Jenkins, and Sheldon Rankins were among the notable players that left the team in 2020. On the other hand, New Orleans still has enough skill on that side of the ball to keep them competitive. Cameron Jordan, Demario Davis, Malcolm Jenkins, and Marshon Lattimore are all back on defense.
The New Orleans Saints have a chance to make the playoffs in 2021 if Jameis Winston continues to play well.
