The Philadelphia Eagles have been one of the best teams in football this season, but they are struggling to find a replacement for the injured Jay Ajayi. With injuries mounting on their roster, Andy Reid and the Chiefs can help them out by rescuing another running back from a crowded backfield.
The clyde edwards-helaire is a running back that the Kansas City Chiefs acquired from the New England Patriots. With this acquisition, the Chiefs can overcome the loss of clyde edwards-helaire and use him in tandem with Kareem Hunt to keep their offense going.
The Kansas City Chiefs of 2021 will look nothing like the club that has dominated the league over the last several years. On Sunday Night Football, the Buffalo Bills crushed Andy Reid’s team. They demonstrated why Kansas City can’t win a Super Bowl with their present roster. The defense is bad, but an injury to Clyde Edwards-Helaire hurt the offense as well.
On the trade market, the Chiefs should seek for a replacement running back.

In the Chiefs’ Week 5 defeat to the Bills, Clyde Edwards-Helaire injured his knee. He’s been put on injured reserve, meaning he’ll be out for at least three games.
Edwards-Helaire was selected by Kansas City with the No. 32 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft out of LSU. There was considerable suspense around the choice. CEH was an outstanding member of LSU’s national championship squad.
As a junior, CEH rushed for 1,414 yards and 16 touchdowns for the Tigers. He also has 55 receptions. Andy Reid’s system appeared to be a great match for his all-around skill set as a rushing back. Not to mention that the Chiefs already have Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill on the offensive line.
Edwards-Helaire had a solid first season, but his performance fell short of expectations. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native rushed for 803 yards and four touchdowns on 181 carries.
Despite a lack of scoring statistics in a high-powered Chiefs offense, CEH’s raw potential gave the team cause to be optimistic going ahead. He’s had a hit-or-miss start to the 2021 season, but he’s shown glimpses with two 100-yard games and two touchdown receptions.
The skills of Marlon Mack are being squandered in Indianapolis.

There’s a stalemate at running back for the Indianapolis Colts. Jonathan Taylor, a second-year running back, is a star and the offense’s obvious No. 1 back. Nyheim Hines is a big part of the passing game.
So far in 2021, Marlon Mack has played a little role. Only 20 times for 85 yards and no touchdowns has the South Florida native run the ball. In the Colts’ Week 5 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens, he gained more than half of total yards.
Mack was selected in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts, and he has showed glimpses of becoming a genuine No. 1 running back in the league. In 2019, he had his finest statistical season, rushing for 1,091 yards and eight touchdowns.
Mack has battled with injuries in the past, the most recent of which being a ruptured Achilles tendon in Week 1 of the 2020 season. However, the explosion he displayed versus Baltimore was encouraging. He only ran the ball five times, but he averaged 9.4 yards per carry.
Mack is now serving as a change-of-pace back in Indianapolis. That doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon, particularly given how terrific Jonathan Taylor has looked recently.
Only if the Colts trade him will the fifth-year tailback get more action. The Chiefs are a possible suitor.
Andy Reid may take the position of CEH and replace him with Mack.
Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs are not concerned about Clyde Edwards-injury. Helaire’s The front office, on the other hand, cannot ignore it.
Darrel Williams, a fourth-year back from LSU, has a lot of potential. We’ve never seen him as a lead back who gets the majority of the carries, however. Jerick McKinnon, on the other hand, has never been a No. 1. The Chiefs may have to make a change.
The Chiefs have “looked into” getting Marlon Mack from the Colts, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. It would make a lot of sense to do so.
Despite the fact that Mack is a former 1,000-yard rusher, he is coming off a major injury. Kansas City would most likely not have to give up a lot to get him.
The Colts’ running backs are more talented right now, with Mack, Williams, and McKinnon. Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy should be able to maximize his potential.
The Chiefs will receive a competent Clyde Edwards-Helaire replacement at a bargain if they can get Marlon Mack.
Pro Football Reference provided the statistics.
After a dismal start to the season, the Kansas City Chiefs’ brutal injury to Clyde Edwards-Helaire puts more pressure on Patrick Mahomes.
